P5060610.jpg (92200 bytes) Shelter - The first thing that caught my eye was the soot mark, so I climbed up to take a closer look.
P5060613.jpg (34980 bytes) So there I was, everything spread out on a shelf while having lunch when this guy decided to join me;  I managed to get to my camera without scaring him off, or getting dirt in my sandwich.
P5060614.jpg (136972 bytes) Sycamore Canyon Vista
P5060619.jpg (121788 bytes) "Hey bud, I've got my eye on you!"  I almost stepped on this guy and then watched him swim under the mat of algae and moss.  I was amazed when he poked his head through and turned to watch me!
P5060620.jpg (124334 bytes) Parsons Spring - the source is below the rock formation.
P5060625.jpg (102260 bytes) One last shot on the way out - the formation behind the "swimming hole".
P5060535.jpg (107593 bytes) OK, so the houses I built won't last a 1000 years either, at least they had windows!
P5060538.jpg (78479 bytes) Location, Location, Location.- Tuzigoot view.
We think they built on the tops of hills for defense, maybe they were like us and just went for the view.
P5060553.jpg (101507 bytes) Surprise, This plant has been identified as a Bird of Paradise - that makes it the 3rd plant by this name that I know of:   Caesalpinia gilliesii
P5060558.jpg (74163 bytes) And lastly, a shot similar to the one you'll find in the brochures. The southern elevation.
