We are moving many of our treks to a new community site called Astertiki.  
Astertiki will become a wiki-site and eventually will allow anyone to update and correct information about the treks, which of course should help keep the treks current.  I will no longer attempt to keep this update list current.

Having purchased a used pop-up trailer at the end of Sept., I made a quick shake-down cruise up to spend the night on the Monogollon Rim.

12/6//03 - Camping Directory:  I have set up a sub-directory for our camping trips.  The comping trips are made with friends and relatives for the purpose of enjoying the greater outdoors.  Of course these trips involve a lot of hiking and photography and may visit archeological sites as well.

Cherry Creek Canyon

It is hard to believe how long it has been since I went on a strenuous hike - but two weekends ago I finally got out with some friends for a camping and hiking trip up Cherry Creek Canyon, which is a rich archeological area.

Something new on Westerntreks, a catalog store of high quality fossil fish for sale.  Two sellers (trekker and a friend) will present a catalog of fossils which are available - the catalog will be continuously updated so check back frequently!

Fossil Lake, near Kemmerer, WY is the Fossil Fish Capital of the World!  I had the good fortune to spend a few days "plying the trade" in two of the quarries.  I have started posting portions of some of the pages - this will be another long project!

The Monument contains three interesting districts - I visited the Southeast corner, a district that is full of ruins, arches and of course, needles.

Natural Bridge National Monument

The Monument contains three interesting natural bridges. One, Sipapu is the 2nd largest
in the world.  Still the highlight of the trip may be the very unusual rooms in the Ruin.

I made a loop from Mesa to the Mining district, Avaraipa Canyon, Bio-sphere 2, the Tom Mix Memorial,  the agriculture of the central desert and then back to Mesa.

Most of the Forest lands are closed so I visited the Sunset Crater Volcano
Monument to make a relatively short climb up Strawberry Crater.
