September '99 O'ahu with Natalie and Mori
This was the first trip we took with my first digital camera.
Mvc-020f.jpg (107714 bytes) The view of the pool from Natalie and Mori's balcony.
Mvc-023f.jpg (59572 bytes) The view to the south from their balcony - Maunalua Bay in the distance.
Mvc-026f.jpg (64801 bytes) As we drove toward Honolulu along the coast to pick Natalie up from work, we stopped a couple of times so I could test the telephoto lens of my new camera.
Mvc-034f.jpg (52160 bytes) At one of our stops we decided to get a group shot so I mounted my camera on a small "toy" tripod and sat it on the car fender - this was my first attempt to use it. I had just sat down beside Sharon after setting the timer, when we noticed the camera start to slide off the car; yes, showing amazing speed for an ol' guy, I did catch it before it hit the ground.
Mvc-039f.jpg (66715 bytes) Koko Head
Mvc-042f.jpg (70829 bytes) When you travel with Mori, things seem to have a pace (or lack there of) of their own.  Natalie eventually coaxed him off the roof so we could continue on.  We were parked above Diamond Head Beach Park.
Mvc-049f.jpg (81745 bytes) They took us to a Dolphin show at one of the local resorts - I took "hundreds" of shots but only had a couple of "keepers".
Mvc-055f.jpg (77474 bytes) Putting the toy tripod on a non-slip surface allowed us to get one group picture.
Mvc-070f.jpg (73858 bytes) No, Hanauma Bay is not for the birds, it just seemed like it for a while.
