  Hobbies, Interests and Activities: For many years, Lefty held the Colorado High School record in the High Jump.  Despite his scissors style, he jumped over 6 ft 1 in., setting a record that stood for a number of years.  He starred along with his two brothers on the Colorado College basketball team.  Pictures of the three brother were still on display in their college field house during the early1960s.

  Throughout his life, Emil was call "Lefty" or "Coach".  He and Eleanor lived the vast majority of their years in one house located in Fort Collins and remained for the bulk of their teaching careers in the Fort Collins school district.  In recognition of this life-long service and dedication, a new Elementary School in Fort Collins was named in their honor.  Here is a link for additional information:
