Comments:
Jim was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Air Force out of the ROTC program at Colorado State University.  He entered pilot training at Williams AFB, AZ in September of 1963 and after getting his wings he was assigned as a "Primary Instructor Pilot" and stayed on at Williams AFB for four years, teaching flying and academics.  In November of 1968 he applied with, and was hired by, American Airlines. After his initial training in Arlington, TX, he was based out of O'Hara in Chicago for five years and then transferred to San Diego, CA in January 1973 where they have lived ever since.  Quoting Jim, "I retired (mandatory with the airlines) on my 60th birthday, July1, 2000... it was a wonderful career!!!!!"
