Letter to Natalie - Nov 26, '98
Hi Natalie and Mort,
I'm never sure whether to copy Mort at his own address or not. But I decided you two have been married less than a year and are probably still sharing things, so be sure and let him read it.
We got your "card" - it's kind-a-neat. Your mom got a big kick out of it and she say's "thanks" (cute on thanksgiving?). We are just sitting around and having a quite morning so far today. The turkey is in the oven and the house is starting to smell like the holidays.
Later today I will take up my shovel and attack the front yard. Last weekend I came down with a cold so I didn't do any work on it. But, we let the sprinklers
accidentally water the dirt and as a result I have a lot of sinking ditches and bordering bricks to fix. I would like to get the sod laid this weekend but that goal might be a little ambitious for me.
I am thinking about swapping out the ram in my laptop - it only has 16 meg and it seems to run rather slow when I have a lot of windows open. It turns out that you can't just add memory to the laptop, you have to replace a memory board. I might buy the 64 meg board just to see what will happen but I probably only need the 32 meg - it so cheap now I might as well go for the gusto. (I also think that Norton is slowing down all of my downloads - suddenly I have started to become a speed freak.)
We finally got the priority mail off yesterday. When your mom took it in, the guy told her that it is a FFA rule - just before Christmas - that ought to push a few buttons. The rule is that a package has to be inspected by a postman if it has a regular stamp and weighs more than 16 ounces. But, if it had a metered stamp from a company, then they will take it without a person delivering it to the P.O. - he said the FFA thinks that they can identify the metering machine from the postage label (if they can find it). I
guess we'll all have to practice making our letter bombs so they weigh less than 16 ounces.
Sandy said that she will give your grandmother a card today, telling her that we are getting her a computer. It will be delivered either Friday or Monday. She's hoping it will be Friday because Daryl and Julie will still be there - she probably expects D&J to aid in the required training. The guy doing the delivery is going to load the Juno software for her.
(And now a few words from the distaff side)
Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving. Where did you decide to go?
Your Dad gave me this cold that is attacking me. I wasn't feeling good Monday so I didn't even go to my quilting. Tuesday I wasn't feeling good so I took 500 mg of vitamin C every hour and started feeling good. Tuesday I thought I might be overdoing the C so I took some every 2 hours. Yesterday I was back to the C every hour but by last night I took a decongestant an a Tylenol PM and went to bed at 8:30. Today I am taking the decongestant, C when I think about it and I will take the Tylenol PM tonight. Prediction: I will be better by tomorrow.
Well, we had better go - hope you guys have a great day!!!
