Re: Meanderings - Jul 22, '02

Dear Roger and Sharon,

It's good to hear from you! We have been hearing various rumors regarding
your trip plans. Roger, it's safe to arrive in Boulder sooner it things
change for you, Mike was able to adjust Grams new screen door and install a
faucet in the kitchen. So most of the home repairs are done. Grandma did
retrieve the broken screen door from the dumpster so this concerns us a bit.
It is now in her front patio area. You know how hard it is for Grams to
throw out anything! I think she is still wanting some work done on the back
patio. What everyone doesn't seem to understand is, Mike is not Mr. Fix It.
It would be like asking one of you to do her tax return when Grams asks Mike
to fix something.

We are going to Chicago Basin near Silverton this week. We are riding the
train to Needleton, back packing 7 miles to base camp, then hiking three
peaks, back packing out on Saturday and riding the train back to Durango.
Sharon, if you would like a ride to Boulder we would be leaving Durango some
time Sunday to return home. Let us know. Unfortunately, our travels will not
take us to Grand Junction area. I need to be back to work on Monday, July
29th. My cholesterol is not 153 even after all these adventures! Some people
are just blessed! Consider yourself lucky. I have cut back my fat
consumption to salt and vinegar chips as a reward when I climb a peak and I
still have high cholesterol!

What is your resting heart rate? Can you beat the low 50's? When they take
Mike's heart rate they think they have made an error, and retake it. Now if
we can just get the blood pressure down. Maybe retirement will help.

We look forward to seeing you guys! Have a very safe trip!

Love,
Susan

P.S. Sorry your shrinking! Stand up taller or get some orthodics!
